It has been a couple of months since I received my I-526 receipt. However, when I try to check the case status on the USCIS website, it says, “You are attempting to add a receipt number that does not exist in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again.” Is this normal? How long does it take the system to update my case status? When can I start tracking the case status online?

I have seen valid cases that will not be accepted at all, and sometimes it takes several weeks after receiving the receipt notice to be able to add it to the system.
