Is the EB-5 loan good to build my credit history in the U.S.?

How will my EB-5 loan with the regional center enhance my credit history if I pursue a separate loan with a U.S. bank once I get my green card? Will it help solidify my financial credibility in the U.S.?

An EB5 loan will not have a direct impact on your credit history or score given that these investments are generally with private entities and not subject to reporting to the credit score companies.

I am not privy to how the credit agencies arrive at your credit score, but it shouldn’t hurt it if payments on the loan are made timely. The money into the EB-5 project will need to be the complete funding required. The loan cannot be secured by the project you are investing in.

Loans can impact credit of the lendee when they are paid back. You are neither the lender or lendee. You have an equity stake in an entity that is the lender.
