Is it normal for a regional center to redeploy EB-5 money?

I want to make sure I understand the redeployment aspect of my EB-5 investment before I choose the project. Why would my regional center have to redeploy my money? When does this happen? Is it normal?

You need to review the terms of the investment agreement and the PPM. If the jobs have not been created is one reason, another is to comply with statutory deadlines.

I wouldn’t say normal but it can happen and you should be notified.

Redeployment is normal for EB-5 petitions filed before the EB-5 Reform and Integrity Act (RIA) was passed on March 15, 2022. Pre-RIA investors must keep their EB-5 investment at risk during the 2-year period of their conditional residency. Thus, if the project is completed before your 2-year conditional residency period is over, the regional center has to redeploy your investment funds into another project to comply with the at-risk requirement of the EB-5 program.
