I recently filed my I-526 application. According to the courier, the application package was delivered on Aug. 7, 2019. How many days does it take to get a formal receipt from USCIS?

Immigration attorneysThis can vary. You should likely have received the receipt notice one week after the date of filing.

Immigration attorneysUsually within a couple of weeks after filing. You should check to see if your filing fee check has cleared with the bank. That's usually a telling sign the the case has been received/accepted for processing and the fee is in.

EB-5 Broker DealersOur experience has been two to three weeks, but like everything else with immigration if this also takes longer, do not panic. If you do not receive it by the first or second week of September, have your attorney inquire.

Immigration attorneysWe have seen cases where receipts never arrive. Your case number should be on the back of the check cashed by USCIS. Contact USCIS customer service or have your attorney do that to make a service request. Alternatively, make an InfoPass appointment online to obtain I-551 stamp in your passport if a service request does not get you a replacement receipt notice within 30 days.
