My OPT EAD card is expiring at the end of May. Me and my husband filed adjustment of status last year in September, where I filed for a new EAD card. Am I eligible for automatic extension if my new EAD does not come by the time the OPT one expires? I also received a receipt notice for the new EAD saying if eligible, I can provide that paper with expired EAD as a proof to my employer and continue to work. How does this work?

Immigration Attorneys DirectoryOPT EADs are not eligible for automatic extension but the new EAD should be approved within a few months so it appears maybe there is an issue with your new filing if it was filed over 7 months ago.
