We did our initial landing in USA 2 days ago on an EB-5 visa and got our passports stamped. We want to settle in the USA not immediately but in 7-8 months as we have home rental contract and other work in our country. Can we come to the USA once or twice for a weekend or a week or so in May to extend the “6 months outside the U.S.” rule window and then move here around October or November? Do we need to rent a property here right now (before actually moving in October) or do anything else to show ties or otherwise avoid losing our green cards?

Immigration Attorneys DirectoryYou should definitely take steps to show this is your home and try not to be out for more than 5 months. Also, you can file for reentry permits but they are also very backlogged.

Immigration Attorneys DirectoryTraveling intermittently without absences of longer than six months is fine, so long as you have the intention of living in the U.S. in the future and are beginning to establish ties to the U.S. If you are going to have longer absences, you should consider applying for a reentry permit.
