Mazen Sukkar has been working in the immigration law field since 1987. He leads his own firm, Sukkar & Associates, headquartered in Hollywood, Fla. Attorney Sukkar and his team assist clients on immigration matters related to work visas; family-based green cards; employment-based green cards; citizenship; the green card lottery; and investment-based residency, including EB-5 green cards achieved through both the regional center program and the traditional direct program. Attorney Sukar has been Board Certified by the Florida State Bar as an expert in the practice of immigration and nationality law for over twenty years. Specifically, his EB-5 expertise consists of representing immigrant investors and guiding them through the immigrant visa process. This includes procedures such as filing I-526 forms, I-485 applications, DS-230/DS-260 applications, and I-829 petitions. He has also assisted regional centers in the filing of the I-924 application.
Upon earning his bachelor’s degree in political science, with honors, from Biscayne College, Attorney Sukkar went on to graduate cum laude from Nova Southeastern University with his Juris Doctor. Since 2006, he has been listed as a Florida “Super Lawyer,” placing him among the top 5 percent of attorneys in the state. Attorney Sukkar is a member of the American Bar Association and the Florida State Bar. He is admitted to South and Central Florida federal courts and Atlanta’s 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.
In addition to serving twice on the Florida Bar Certification Review Committee, Attorney Sukar has been a past president of the South Florida Chapter of AILA, and remains a permanent member of its Board of Directors. He has served as a board member on the national AILA Board of Governors. Attorney Sukkar has also been vice chair of the AILA National EOIR Liaison committee, and co-chair of the Texas Service Center AILA National Committee. He frequently writes on legal topics for organizations such as AILA and the Florida State Bar, and has also contributed extensively to organizing CLE seminars for immigration lawyers.
