“You will forever be missed, but your spirit will live on”
With a heavy heart, I write this obituary in memory of my dear friend, Nima Korpivaara, an esteemed lawyer whose influence reached far beyond his professional life. Born to Fattaneh Korpivaara in Los Angeles, Nima’s journey was one of unwavering dedication and compassion for his mother, family, and friends. His exceptional legal acumen and heartfelt commitment to his clients set him apart as one of the most successful lawyers within the EB-5 community, which has lost a great mind with his passing.
Nima passed away at the age of 42 after a courageous fight with cancer. He lived his life with integrity, never compromising his values or principles. His honesty, sincerity, and authenticity earned him the respect and admiration of everyone who crossed his path. His loyalty was unwavering, and his friendships were deep and enduring.
Beyond his professional achievements, Nima was a dear and trusted friend whose support and guidance were invaluable personally and professionally. Our shared Persian heritage created a unique bond, deepening our friendship and mutual respect. Being Iranian, we both had a reflexive love of playing backgammon, though Nima’s strategy often seemed to rely more on hope than skill. His playful determination in the face of frequent losses always made me smile.
Nima’s kindness and generosity knew no bounds. He had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel valued and loved, whether through offering a listening ear or sharing a moment of laughter. He touched the lives of those around him in profound ways. Nima had a way of making you feel like you were the most important person in the room.
He is survived by his beloved mother, Fattaneh Korpivaara. His legacy will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace, my dear friend. You will forever be missed, but your spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew you. Thank you for the friendship, the laughter, and the love.
Until we meet again.
“Nima was a tireless advocate and friend”
By Phuong Le, Eric Domínguez, Niral Patel and the KLD LLP family
It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved friend and partner, Nima Korpivaara, who passed away on July 10, 2024.
Over the course of his career, Nima was recognized for his contributions to the immigration community, but it was the lives that he touched that are his true legacy. Always generous with his time and energy, Nima was a tireless advocate and friend. In his short time with us, Nima traveled the world, helping thousands of families achieve their American Dream. At home, he was beloved for his quick wit and ability to connect with everyone he met.
While the void he leaves in our hearts can never be filled, we will continue to honor his legacy. Our entire KLD team is dedicated to ensuring that we will continue in full force with the same level of dedication, service, and support to all our clients that we’ve provided from day one. Nima, we miss you and love you.
Until we meet again, dear friend.
