How long does it take to get a biometric appointment after I have filed I-797C?

I received a letter from USCIS that my receipt notice fee was waived for Form I-797C. I assume biometric is next and if so how long does it take to get the biometric appointment letter and when should I be expecting my appointment date to be?

The biometrics appointments are very unpredictable with covid-19 restrictions. Some offices are fully up and running, some are still closed and many hybrids with partial functioning. All locations are very backlogged because of so many cancellations earlier this year. What type of case did you file - the I-797C is on all receipts and approvals?

If you are referring to the I-485 adjustment filing, it ordinarily takes about 1-2 months to get scheduled for a biometrics appointment; however, with the recent surge of adjustment filings, it may take longer.

Biometrics appointments are usually received within 60-180 days after an application is received. However, with the pandemic, it might take longer.

Anywhere from 4+ weeks. What exactly is the biometrics for? Form 797c is generic for all receipt notices. Ask your attorney to walk you through the documents you are receiving.
